Well to start with New Years Eve i enjoy much more than Christmas.  To be honest i dont really enjoy Christmas at all but i love New Years Eve because i feel it's a time to put the past behind you and look forward to a new year full of the unknown, basically lets see what life can throw at me this year, she says with a worried look upon her face heh heh!!!!!

Every New Years Eve i tend to do the same, maybe pop into town and risk all the drunks around me, then come back early, have a drink in my local and make sure i'm back home to put the pizza in the oven, open the champagne and watch the fireworks at midnight.  I also like being with my animals, luckily they aren't scared of the noise of the fireworks but they are still kept indoors.  So we watch the fireworks and then go inside and celebrate with them ie; pussycats get munchies or probably something much nicer that i've gone out and bought for them and our spoilt dog poppy gets pizza crusts.  I can relax knowing no fights are going to break out around me in a club and listen to my preferred choice of music.

I also thought that if i had nothing to do then most other goths wouldn't have anything to do either besides eat peanuts and stale leftovers.  And why not all celebrate together with all our friends. As Christmas can be an expensive time for some people i have kept ticket prices as low as possible and i think £20 in advance for a 3-night event is very reasonable considering what time of year it is.

The New Year event will not have bands playing, it will just be music by Glenn Psychosis, Axy and DJ Ghost who will be DJ'ing this years Sexy Sunday/Manic Monday events.  It will be a mixture of tradional Goth/Industrail/Alternative.

I decided to do a banquet as it would be nice for everyone to sit down and share a meal together at the beginning of the year.  Also there will be few places open to get food on that particular day and at a price of £6.00 you can't go wrong.

I started the Sexy Sunday Goth event in the Metropole way back in April 1998.  The reason for it was because there was still goths out on the streets that couldn't get into the 80's night at Laughtons.  I decided to do a 'Goth' night for them and it has grown to be a very popular event at the end of the Whitby Goth Weekends.  From this April Manic Monday is back, making Sexy Sunday a regular two-night event from now on.  Tickets are already selling for both nights.  Manic Monday started when Jo Hampshire extended her Goth Weekend for the 10th anniversary and she had a Sunday night in the Spa so Sexy Sunday had to be Manic Monday for that weekend.

The Metropole is an excellent venue to hold my events because the staff are lovely and friendly and Karen the Manager bends over backwards to help me in any way she can.  There are always plenty of bar staff so goths get their drinks without having to queue.

I have already contacted Tourist Information and have sent back an event listings form to inform local businesses and B&B's of this event.  B&B's now know to open at this time of year for the goths as i was told quite a few close.
